when rescheduling your session turned out to be the best decision ever
The last time I did portraits for J + S was in July of 2019, nearing 5 years ago! My style has drastically changed since then so I was beyond excited when they reached out to me to do their maternity session. Living in Florida, you never know what weather you're going to get. It can change drastically within minutes. I have literally done sessions where it's raining and dark on one side and sunny on the other. WILD!
Anyway, when I saw that the forecast for our original date was going to be a rainy and cloudy day I still held out until the morning of, which is what I typically do. As the afternoon came the day got windier and was just so gray. I ended up making the call to reschedule. The whole reason they wanted a beach session was to have that beautiful golden hour and sunset and I knew it wasn't going to happen organically.
We rescheduled for the week after, and let me tell you, I am over the moon with how these images turned out. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. It was cool and there was not a single cloud all day. I love when Florida does show off its beauty like it did this evening.

I LOVEEEE black and white portraits when the photo is just right for it. All about that baby bumpin'!

Secret Garden at upham beach
The reason that I like to suggest Upham Beach as one of the options for beach sessions is because of the adorable tucked away garden. We stopped in here for a couple before the outfit change.

a ziplock bag = magic
You may have seen this hack on social media before, especially if you're a photographer, but it's possibly one of my favorites. Grab a ziplock bag, cut a hole in the bottom, wrap it around your lens but let some of it hang off the end. VOILA! You get a beautiful, whimsical, hazy look to your images that just takes it to the next level.

Thank you both for making my photographer heart happy this evening! I am so excited for you both!
Just one more shot of the beautiful mama!
