Popping the question...
I received a phone call from a friend of mine and she had Nathan there with her. He knew it was last minute but was inquiring to see if I could capture his proposal to his girlfriend on Indian Shores beach in Saint Petersburg, Florida. It is rare that I had availability on such short notice but it was meant to be because I was free the exact day he wanted to do it. We exchanged contact information and I took the rest of the week to prep him for accomplishing a proposal with a secret photographer.
When I do these kind of proposals, I always use body cues or cues with my clothing to communicate that I am ready whenever they are. For example, I planned to wear a baseball cap so I told Nathan that when I had my baseball cap flipped backwards, it was go-time!
The cue we decided for him was to give her a big hug before dropping to one knee.
Everything went according to plan, even with all of his nerves.
The Rest of the Session
Once she realized what had happened, I walked up to congratulate both of them and told her that Nathan hired me to capture the whole thing. She was over the moon!
I was so ready to start capturing their sweet love they share. They were COMPLETE naturals in front of the camera!
I mean they are total models, am I right?!
