Some sessions become so much more than photographs. They become a story you get to witness unfold chapter by chapter — from the first announcement to maternity, to finally holding the baby you’ve all been waiting for in your arms.
Getting to photograph this family through my Growing Family Bundle was such an incredible honor because I truly had the privilege of documenting their journey from beginning to end.
From their announcement session, to their cozy in-home maternity session, and now welcoming their sweet baby boy earthside, every chapter of this story has been filled with so much love, anticipation, and genuine connection. Watching families grow in real time is one of the greatest gifts of what I do.
The soft natural light throughout their home created the dreamiest atmosphere. One of my favorite parts of lifestyle newborn sessions is documenting the quiet, everyday moments that become the most meaningful over time — the way mom instinctively sways while holding her baby, dad’s proud smile while cradling his son, tiny fingers wrapped around their hands, and even the family dog getting to be a part of the session.
Their baby boy was absolutely perfect throughout the session. His thick dark hair, sleepy expressions, and tiny features made every image feel so timeless and tender. There’s something so special about photographing newborns in the comfort of their own home because it allows the session to feel authentic to this exact season of life.
What made this session especially emotional was getting to recreate a few images from their maternity session — except this time, baby boy was finally in their arms instead of inside mom’s belly. Seeing those moments come full circle was such a beautiful reminder of how quickly these seasons pass and how meaningful it is to preserve them intentionally.
